Self walk

I found this walk rather challenging. I feel i did ok with it and im starting to get the hang of the walk cycle, but i think i need to work on the bob as the character gets higher and lower as we walks and the arm movement.

The character looks like he's got more of a limp then wot i intended to do. I feel the leg movement moves to suddenly up to the highest pose and i could of added an extra frame into it. I think i could of exaggerated the arm movement alot more an make the character seem alot more cheerful.

Kathys life drawring lessons has helped in the way the body moves as it walks along, and im starting to have a better understanding.

Sketch book work

This is some of my sketch book work i have done for my life drawring class's. I think i need to try draw a bit more in there, so far i have drawn myself riding a horse which still needs work and i need to finish, a shetland pony from the farm i work at as well. I added colour to this, i think i need to work of my colouring and shading teqnics.
I have also attempted at drawring myself and my sister, i have not yet drawn any facial features and i find i really struggle at this. I feel i need alot more practice in this area and im going to work on facial features, hands and feet during the christmas holidays.

I have also drawn the muscle groups which was a task set by kathy. I think i could of worked on this alot more, i could of done better.

Maya work

I am throughly enjoying the work with maya and playing around with the andy rig. Its really interesting and you can go back through it and build up the layers as you go along.

Its still rather difficult to get the walk just right and to remember to animate the smallest part of the body e.g the hands and to make the arms look more natural and less robotic.

I learn something new with each lesson and every task is a new challenge to over come and to help my understanding of maya.

2d depressed walk

Here i have attempted at creating a 2D walk cycle using a emotion. Here i have looked at a depressed walk. I think this is slightly better then my last walk, The arms and legs work alot better an there's more of a slight bob.

I think i need to work on the bob at he gets higher an then lower, i think the head bounces a bit to much as well. He also looks like hes got a slight limp.

Walk cycle 2d

Here i have attempted to create a 2d walking man, I think i really need to work on the walk cycle.
The walking needs to be smoother an i really need to work on the arm movement.

Life Drawring

Im really enjoying the life drawing lessons, I've gotten more and more into it and i think with time my drawing skills will improve.
Im starting to understand the human body a lot more when drawing, i am even drawing more human drawings then animal.

I think i need to start looking at putting more detail into my drawings an adding shading.
I also need a lot more practice of facial features and drawing the hands and feet.

I have also enjoyed drawing the sporting poses, looking at body language and drawring quickly using pastels etc. I think i'm going to start using more of a range of materials as i have just been using pencil.

Jump

I think this is a improvement from my last jumping man, Its turned out a lot better and this one doesn't look like its hit a invisible wall and floating gradually down like it had wings.

I think the anticipation  and the over lapping went ok.
I think what didn't work is after the man stopped spinning his arms he could of gotten up more gradually and not so suddenly.
Think the squash at the end of the jump could of been a bit more.

Maya

After struggling the first two lessons of maya and getting rather confused with it, i am gradually getting the hang of it. Still get confused on some parts and i sometimes forget parts and i have to play around a bit to remember but i'm gradually getting there now.

I really enjoyed using the stretch and squash on maya after getting the hang of it after lots of re starting and more confusion but i got there.
Think the more time i have on maya the more its all going to sink in and i wont get so confused all the time.

Jumping man

I have created a simple squash and stretch animation, this time i have made a jumping man using basic shapes.

I feel like i dragged the man to far out so it looks like he's hit a invisible wall and dropped. I think i should of made him drop further in and needs to squash more as he hits the ground and stretch more as he comes back up. He also needs to drop quicker as he gets nearer the ground as its to much in slow motion, i could go back and delete a few frames out to speed him up.

Bouncing Ball

This week i have learnt the principles of squash and stretch animation using this i created a bouncing ball. I think i could of spent more time on this and made the ball move more gradually down and not so suddenly.

I feel this needs to be alot smoother and the ball needs to squash more when it hits the ground.
